About Karns Lions Pool

The Karns Pool is CLOSED for the season. We re-open Memorial Day weekend 2026.

Party reservations: Will start taking in May. Watch for date announcement.

Karns Lions Pool is a privately owned non-profit community pool open to the public. We sell daily admission, multi-visit punch cards and season passes. A pergola is available for rent during regular hours. The pool may be reserved for private parties Tu-Su 6:30-8:30pm.

Regular Hours:

Monday - Saturday 10am-6pm
Sunday 1pm-6pm

Check Facebook on bad weather days for updates on hours.

Features:

Accessibility: The pool includes a ramp with handrails for easy access. A pool wheelchair is available for assistance entering the pool.
Seating: Picnic tables are available, and guests are welcome to bring their own camping or lounge chairs.
The pool has a gunite surface with a fine grit to enhance safety by preventing slips. However, the texture may be rough on sensitive skin; we recommend water shoes or socks for young children during extended play.

Small Canopy Rental Option

Several 10'x10' canopies will be available each day, first-come, first-served. No tables included. Cash price is $25 (+3% credit card service fee). If using for a party with 10+ people and outside food/decor, an additional $25 party fee will apply and you must obtain pre-approval (more info).

CASH IS KING AND STAYS LOCAL! A 3% surcharge will be added to all credit card transactions (dip/swipe/tap). This includes concessions.

Minimum $8 purchase to use a credit card.

***NO DEBIT CARDS or pre-paid/gift cards** will be accepted (even if processed as credit).

(punch cards can be shared within a group by making multiple punches in a visit)

*Children under 12 MUST be accompanied by someone at least 16 years old.

Our online store opens a few days before the pool opens and accepts debit cards, credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Cash App payments.

A convenience fee not greater than our cost of acceptance is added to online purchases.

Private After Hours Parties

Not yet accepting reservations for 2026. Reservations will go live in early to mid May. We will announce date/time of launch several days in advance here and on Facebook and Instagram.

A 3% convenience fee applies to all credit card & online transactions, including online.

No debit cards accepted in-person at the pool due to legal restrictions, but can be used online.

Lifeguards will be staffed at the appropriate number per party size as required by the health department. If your party size becomes larger than originally planned, you must let us know in advance and pay the difference. All safety rules will be enforced.

Food and Decor Guidelines:

Outside food and drink are permitted, but no cans, glass (including serving dishes), or alcohol. Having alcohol will result in immediate termination of the party with no refund.
Per health code guidelines, we are unable to store customer food in our refrigerator or freezer.
The concession stand is not open during parties.
No confetti or water balloons.
No tape of any kind. Please use string and clips to hang any banners or decorations.

The Pizza Hoss in Karns offers special pricing and FREE delivery for private evening parties at the pool!

Setup can begin around 6:15 PM after lifeguards finish cleaning. A Karns Lions Club volunteer will be on site during your party.

Booking and Cancellation:

Book online at least 1 week in advance or in-person during regular pool hours.
No refunds for cancellations within two weeks of the reserved date.
Weather related cancellations: Consult with a pool manager by 5pm on the day of your party to receive a refund. No refunds will be issued if you choose to proceed and the party is affected by weather. Management also reserves the right to cancel for severe weather.

Reserve our 10x20 covered pergola with two picnic tables for your exclusive use.

During Your Event:

Regular admission fees still apply for all attendees. Consider purchasing a 10-visit punch card for discounted and easier entry.
The pergola is reserved exclusively for your use during the 3-hour slot. You may arrive at the pool early or stay later, but the pergola access is limited to your booked time only.
You may rent both time slots and occupy the pergola from 10am-5pm.
Outside food and drink are permitted, but please no cans, glass, or alcohol.
Per health code guidelines, we are unable to store customer food in our refrigerator or freezer.
For smoother entry, please bring a list of guests whose admission you'll cover. Our gate staff will check this list as guests arrive. Guests not on the list will need to pay their own admission.
No tape of any kind. Please use string and clips to hang any banners or decorations. No confetti or water balloons.

Booking and Cancellation:

Book online at least 1 week in advance. You may book in-person during regular hours.
Cancellations can't be made online within 2 weeks of the reserved date. You may contact the pool directly to cancel or reschedule up to 48 hours before your booking.
Full refunds are issued if the pool closes for severe weather before your reserved time (check our Facebook for updates).

What's Changing?

All group gatherings and DIY parties must now be pre-approved by pool management.
We will limit the number of parties per day.
Approval must be obtained by speaking directly with a manager:
- Stop by the pool during operating hours
- Or call us at (865) 691-2947
Note: Karns Lions Club volunteers who manage social media will not be able to approve group gatherings/parties or answer questions about availability.

What Qualifies as a "Party?"

Any group of 10 or more guests that includes a canopy/table, outside food, or decorations is considered a party.

Fees & Canopy Guidelines

Bringing Your Own 10'x10' Canopy or Table For A Party:

$30 setup fee
Must be taken down at least 30 minutes before closing
1 canopy per group
Manager will indicate spot to set up

Renting a Pool-Owned 10'x10' Canopy:

Several canopies are set up daily.
$25 for basic shade use. First-come, first-served.
If used with a group of 10+ and food/decorations, an additional $25 party fee applies
($50 total) and you must arrange in advance.

Additional Rules & Reminders

Picnic tables may not be moved or covered by personal canopies
No piñatas, confetti, or glitter (including in floats or balloons)
No grills, cans, glass, or alcohol
No personal sound systems or music blasting
Please clean up after your group—dispose of all trash properly
All standard pool rules remain in effect
Individual admission prices still apply

Pool SAFETY & COURTESY Rules

Follow all instructions from lifeguards, pool employees, or Karns Lions Club volunteers. If you refuse to follow instructions, you may be asked to leave (no refund).
Outside food and drink is allowed.
NO glass or cans. Glass shatters and cuts bare feet. Pull top tabs from cans cut feet and also end up in our skimmers. Flattened cans in grass cut bare feet. Cans left in grass may be missed and mowed over, spraying the area with metal shards. Again, bare feet.
No alcohol. No exceptions.
We reserve the right to check all coolers for compliance with rules.
Small doughnut floats allowed up to 3 feet in diameter (you may use ours for free). No floats with confetti inside. No oversize or lounge floats (mesh loungers included) - they present a safety hazard for children swimming underwater and obstruct lifeguard views. Baby and toddler floats are allowed, with the exception of baby neck ring floats. Float usage may be limited at the discretion of pool managers or lifeguards on crowded days.
Only 1 person on each diving board at a time.
Only one bounce on board.
You may jump or dive off the board only after previous person has reached the edge of the pool.
Adults may not catch children from diving board.
Exit the deep end after your turn on the board. No hanging out in the deep end. No sitting on the edges of deep end. This is a health code regulation.
No hanging on divider ropes.
No swimmies (water wings) on diving board or slides. You may use life jackets with a crotch safety strap to prevent pulling over head. Puddle jumpers that buckle across chest OK on slide only (not diving board).
No goggles when using the slide or diving board.
No chicken fight games with anyone sitting on your shoulders.
No running or horseplay.
No loud music.
No swearing or cursing.
Ensure the gate to the splash pad area closes after entry or exit.
Swimwear must be appropriate for a family pool.
No smoking/vaping inside the pool area. There is a designated smoking spot in front of the building.
The pool will be evacuated if thunder or lightning are detected nearby and will remain closed for 30 minutes after the last detection. Did you know electrical charges can linger in clouds for 30 minutes? Lightening can also travel up to 25 miles. It isn't safe to remain in open spaces. It's safest to shelter indoors or in a vehicle. The playground is also not safe when lightening is nearby.
Do not urinate or defecate in the pool. Swim diapers are required for those who need them and are available for purchase at the concession stand.
Only ADA service animals are permitted within the pool area. No emotional support animals.
Picnic tables are to be shared. No claiming for parties. Limit one table per group. Limit 45 minutes. Tables may not be covered with personal canopies or moved to a different location
Customer canopy use: one per group, maximum size 10'x10'. No charge if using for personal shade. If using for a group party/gathering, restrictions & fees apply (see above).
Clean up after yourself. Don't leave trash on the ground.
